The first book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series is one of my favorites. The brooding warrior hero, the feisty heroine who doesn’t even know she’s becoming a vampire, the original take on the vampire myth – I LOVE IT.

I was never super into vampires before this either. So if you haven’t read Book 1 – Dark Lover, you’re missing a treat. Some people have issues with where the series is headed, but I am still in love. I love Urban Fantasy anyway so Ms. Ward’s departure from the usual romance rules doesn’t bother me one bit.
